  6. We released the program after 2 man-years of
  7. effort.

  10. 11-09-92 Release 1.1
  11. The theme for this release was "refinement" to the
  12. existing feature set.  The following enhancements
  13. and bug fixes are a part of this release:

  15. Enhancements
  16. * New installation program that is more consistent
  17. * Setup now handles multi-disk installations for
  18.   any diskette type
  19. * Setup now uses DDE to create program group
  20. * Setup allows selective diskette installation
  21. * Setup "silently" installs the VBRUN100.DLL
  22. * Attached File View now returns control to the
  23.   InContact window after calling a file view
  24. * More robust comm port handling for Autodial
  25. * Autodial Reads port information from win.ini
  26. * Autodial allow "hangup", "redial" and "cancel"
  27. * Allows selection of pulse-dialing
  28. * Log allows entry of custom results from Autodial
  29. * Extended Log dialog width
  30. * Created several pre-defined label/envelope styles

  33. * Fixed problem with notes and delete
  34. * Fixed problem surrounding Cancels from
  35.   the Locate/Select dialogs
  36. * Fixed Auto-Capitalize problem after install
  37.   after startup
  38. * Fixed problems with Autodial hangup on some
  39.   systems

  42. 01-03-92 Corrective Release 1.1b
  43. This release includes several bug fixes on the
  44. road to a 1.20 release in the coming months.
  45. The more "notorious" bugs were fixed first,
  46. rather than waiting for the 1.20 release.

  48. Bug Fixes
  49. * The file selector would not allow the user to
  50.   specify files on a root-directory for use.
  51.   This problem has been corrected.
  52. * Home-address labels would not print properly.
  53.   This bug has been fixed.
  54. * The main window appeared in strange sizes after
  55.   installation.  The window now defaults to full
  56.   size.
  57. * New Tool menu items would "vanish" after
  58.   leaving InContact.  The menu now saves properly.
  59. * The "Auto" tool installation (using APF files)
  60.   did not function properly.  This was fixed.
  61. * Certain functions should not be used during a
  62.   contact add (or on a new file).  Several of these
  63.   options should have been disabled during add's,
  64.   but weren't (Delete, Select, Log Book).  Fixed!
  65. * InContact would load a file with one contact and
  66.   treat it as if it were still a new file.  Fixed.
  67. * Subtle cosmetic changes were made.

  72. Bug Fixes
  73. * Fixed problem with Intel modems and autodial.
  74. * The log entries were not deleting properly.
  75. * When printing the log entries, the first item did
  76.   not print.
  77. * Fixed problem with Dial Out and Pulse Dial pref.
  78.   options -- they were not saving (ugh!)
  79. * Fixed problem with the modem switching to voice after
  80.   autodial.

  82. Enhancements
  83. * Added a ModemInit line to the inct.ini file to allow
  84.   special modem init codes
  85. * Added a "Copy Special" edit menu option to allow the
  86.   entire home or work address to be copied to the
  87.   clipboard for quick-paste into, say, a word processor.

  89. Known Problems
  90. * InContact can not respond to a task-manager "close"
  91.   message due to a limitation with Visual Basic.  This
  92.   problem is likely to persist for some time as we are
  93.   not in control of this message aspect.
  94. * The pop-up date calendar will not work properly with
  95.   "year-first" date formats (e.g. "YY-MM-DD").  The
  96.   date fields will accept most formats, but the
  97.   calendar is gross with European formats.
  98. * The on-line help file is not current with the program
  99.   changes made since Ver 1.0.  Most changes are minor 
  100.   and should not affect usability, but this file lists
  101.   all changes made.  Registered users will receive a
  102.   printed addendum with the new Help information until
  103.   the Help file is updated.
  104.  
  105. Features In the Works for Future 1.x releases
  106. * A "local" area code and the ability to auto-dial
  107.   long distance (1+) numbers.
  108. * A small reduction in the number of Windows resources
  109.   used will be implemented.
